For the price, it's an effective way to semi-seal the instep of your hiking shoe. Rocks and sand stay out. It's easy to put on (before you get into your shoe), has a hook on the front, a cinch on the calf and a stirrup. That stirrup may wear out and tear and then you buy a new pair!
